Many believe the Lord Jesus Christ is returning soon. It’s time to get right with God and believe in Him as your Savior.
One first step toward repentance is for us to stop lying to ourselves about all kinds of sin.
So let’s think about the track record of homosexuality and gender confusion throughout human history. Is your first reaction to believe this conduct was normal and harmless all along? That those involved have been victims of perennial discrimination? And that the only reason these behaviors have been discouraged is because of oppressive, patriarchal mores that saw these identities as a threat?
That people with these identity preferences are not disproportionately prone to violence?
Yes, this is what we are all supposed to believe and there’s no more capsulized time frame for presenting this flawed narrative than during October, designated as “LGBTQ History Month.”
In 2025, “History Month” includes “Coming Out Day” and also the American Library Association’s “Banned Books Week,” because that group’s primary goal these days is to defend obscene homosexual and transgender titles pushed by greedy publishers to school libraries.
It’s non-stop victim-posturing and tragically, some schools are jumping on board this hell-bound band wagon. “History Month” is becoming essentially a fall “pride” month in many schools. ( We cover this and more propaganda events at Mission America.)
The truth needs to be told about historical events/trends relating to homosexuality and gender confusion. I can only do small justice to overcoming the myths, but here goes. And after Number 1, they are in no particular order.
1. Sodom and Gomorrah never happened. Yes it did. The end of these cities is seldom referenced in “gay” history, unless it’s to discount biblical orthodoxy. The reality is these towns were actually destroyed in a fiery cataclysm (the latest archaeological discoveries confirm) by God Almighty. He alerted Abraham ahead of time in Genesis 18, because the cities were awash in sexual sin. “Lack of hospitality” had nothing to do with it (a silly yet common liberal denomination heresy). Their prevalent sin was open, proud, predatory homosexuality, even the attempted rape of angels, as described in the Genesis account:
“Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground....
“Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. And they called to Lot and said to him, ‘Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.’” (Genesis 19: 1,4-5 NKJV)
This gang of “old and young” males never got their wish, and the rest is...homosexual history. Subsequent Old and New Testament verses substantiate the reason as punishment for homosexual sin, also adding details about other sins:
“.... pride and insolence (see Ezekiel 16:49-50; 2 Peter 2: 6-10), gluttony, greed and laziness, disrespect toward God and His true believers (Isaiah 3:9), false worship (Deuteronomy 29:23-26; Isaiah 1:10-11; Jeremiah 23:14), lies, especially by the prophets/priests (Jeremiah 23:14), violence (Isaiah 1:21) and neglecting the poor and orphaned (Isaiah 1:23).
“The main sin mentioned is sexual immorality (Jeremiah 23:14; Ezekiel 16: 46-56, 2 Peter 2:6-18; Jude 7-19), specifically homosexuality (Genesis 19:4-5; Ezekiel 16:50; 2 Peter 6-18; Jude 7-8).
“Sodom and Gomorrah are also frequently referenced as examples of total corruption, subject to God’s wrath (Genesis 18:20; Deuteronomy 29:23; Isaiah 13:19; Jeremiah 49:18 and 50:40; Amos 4:11; Zephaniah 2: 9-10; Romans 9:29; 2 Peter 2:6-19), including by Jesus Himself (Matthew 10:15 and 11:24; Luke 10:12). Jesus was describing the fate of those cities refusing to hear the Gospel.”
2. “Born that way” is a fact. No, it’s an oft-repeated myth. From the mid-1990s until a few years ago, America saw headline after headline about research allegedly demonstrating some version of a “gay gene.” Such claims are at the core of many public policy “discrimination” measures over the last three decades. But the headlines have pretty much stopped. The reason? Better studies have demonstrated that it’s “much more complex.” Yes it is, and the dirty little secret that “LGBTQ” folks still try to repress is that the research has fallen flat and most of these aberrant desires arise not from heredity but from sexual molestation, childhood trauma and/or early exposure to porn.
One big reason we can rest assured these delusions and desires are not inborn is that no known pharmaceutical research is underway to develop testing for such an “inborn” inclination. Any such test, if developed, would yield high profits, but Big Pharma is not going there. Why? Because no such inborn link for either homosexual or gender confusion exists.
It's just as the Bible presents it: a gravely sinful behavior (Lev. 18:22) that can be taken up by any number of people, but can also be overcome (1 Corinthians 6: 9-11). The prohibition of homosexuality and gender change is an essential part of overall sexual morality and the biblical model of the natural family and marital relations. And God’s supernatural destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah primarily for the sin of “sodomy” should have sent humanity a clear message.
There is no description of an acceptable homosexual relationship in Scripture (David and Jonathan, or Ruth and Naomi are recent twists not supported by the biblical accounts). There is no description of a cross-dresser or someone who changed sex in Scripture. These would be, as the Leviticus passages say, "abominations." To review all the specific verses about these sins, go HERE. And always remember that Jesus was and is God with full authority for both Old Testament and New Testament teachings.
3. Hitler and the Nazis exemplify bigotry that arose in a “Christian” culture. Untrue. It is absolutely not true that all homosexuals in Nazi Germany were shipped off to concentration camps and suffered a fate similar to the Jews in the Holocaust. Some homosexuals were, but as my longtime friend and pro-family colleague Scott Lively outlined in his book The Pink Swastika (co-authored with Kevin Abrams), the Nazi Party leadership itself and most likely Hitler were deeply compromised by homosexual behavior. Those homosexuals captured were likely sacrifices for political expediency, useful to demonstrate a big lie: that the Nazis represented a pure Judeo-Christian, family-oriented “race.” In fact, sodomy was being routinely inflicted upon Hitler Youth and probably a secret sin of Hitler himself. And the neopaganism of the Nazis reflected a serious distortion of their Christian traditions.
No, the comparison is fatally flawed, and acts and attitudes of fascism currently in America are coming from the left, with violence toward Christians and conservatives becoming a more acceptable option ( and no, it’s not equivalent on the right—not even close). See more below.
4. The right is the cause of most of the violence in America, with little coming from “LGBTQ” people. In fact, those who are transgender or homosexual, supported by their allies and partners, are responsible for a disproportionate number of incidents where peaceful people, even children, were attacked or murdered in cold blood. Consider Charlie Kirk’s recent murder by a homosexual male, Tyler Robinson, partnered with another male attempting to transition to a female. Or the transgender shooter of a Catholic school during religious services, with two children gunned down by this monster. Or the transgender shooter of a Christian school in Tennessee, where she murdered three children.
Or Floyd Corkins, the homosexual who planned a mass murder at Family Research Council in 2012, based on the labels given that group by Southern Poverty Law Center. He shot a security guard, but did not get further in his planned attack.
Armed “queer” resistance groups are even giving lectures on college campuses. One occurred at University of Utah in 2023.
The male arrested just before his planned assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2022 now identifies as a female.
The list is growing of violent sexual and gender outlaws, and it even goes back to infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and child murderers Leopold and Loeb in 1924, who had a homosexual relationship. Also numerous school shooters, including the Columbine killers, were either reputed to be homosexual or had been teased at school for allegedly being “gay.”
And being bullied is always sad. We stand firmly against any such behavior, but being called names does not justify cold-blooded, premeditated murder. Horrifically, there are now those on the left that believe that unpleasant opinions and words justify murder. And yet politicians and media figures on the left deny they are inciting violence.
There is an attempt to recast the Stonewall uprising in 1969 as a noble action against oppression when it was instead, an assault on law enforcement by degenerates and their boy companions.

5. Removal of homosexuality from psychological disorders’ list was a long overdue justice. No, it was an early example of organized homosexual fascism in action. In 1973, the diagnosis of homosexuality as a psychiatric disorder was removed from the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual II. This victory was won not through science but by relentless, often vicious and deceptive “gay” activism. Homosexuals grabbed microphones at APA meetings, blew whistles to disrupt speakers, falsified credentials to gain access to private sessions, made threats, and became a general nuisance. It’s a much longer story, but suffice to say, activism worked. Just barely enough psychiatrists caved in a critical vote ( with material written by homosexual activists) and the designation was removed. Much of this history is detailed in Homosexuality and the Politics of Truth by Jeffery Satinover, MD. This paved the way for the next decades of “progress” in western nations as “out” homosexuals now demanded an array of new rights. Gender identity disorder was downgraded in 2013 in the DSM-5 to a far less consequential label—“gender dysphoria.”
The reality is that this conduct remains disordered and unnatural behavior. Self-professed “LGBTQ” individuals still report far more mental health disorders than those in the majority heterosexual population. And the level of vitriol of this movement toward conservative values and the subsequent bigotry toward Christians is a red flag of ongoing but now mainstreamed emotional disturbance. It’s totally acceptable among many “LGBTQ” communities to hate, verbally attack and even physically attack conservatives.
6. AIDS became “everyone’s risk.” After its identification in 1981 until the release of prophylactic medication to minimize HIV risk (2012), America’s left quickly bought and dutifully transmitted one long and mostly untrue narrative: we all share this risk. It wasn’t just males who had sex with males. All sexual behavior must now be scrutinized.
So the solution? Throw billions of federal dollars into research and pound into everyone’s head that they were homophobic for still thinking anal sex was depraved. It’s “just another way to love,” we were told. But the truth remained: the vast majority of HIV infections have been among males who have anal sex with males, followed by a lower risk for IV drug users, followed by those who have sex with homosexual males, IV drug users or prostitutes. Risks from blood transfusions were virtually eliminated by the late 1980s.
Yet America now needed to make sure middle and high schoolers were taught about their “equal risk” and then overwhelmed with early normalization of homosexual sex practices and condom demonstrations, dismissing abstinence-only education as ineffective when virtually all “objective” research, full of conflicts of interest, was funded by Big Pharma and Big Abortion.
The result was another huge lie to our children, now bringing the corruption of youth under an umbrella of “evidence-based practices.”
So in the 1990s a new type of sex education debuted which was much more graphic, more focused on oral and anal sex risks, and it was all justified by “HIV prevention.” It’s now morphed into “comprehensive sex education” (CSE) and pedaled by Planned Parenthood and other “LGBTQ” and pro-abortion groups. It meets the new demand to be inclusive because it provides equal time for your 12-year-old to learn about vaginal, oral and anal sex. They hardly mention HIV risk anymore because they got what they wanted: children being exposed to the details of homosexual sex practices.
If this seems like a scheme from Satan to divert focus from the real problem (male homosexual sexual activity) to making big money from government grants while grooming children, you would be correct.
And if you recall, the funding for AIDS research came about as a result of street tactics by the “gay” movement’s ACT UP group. They felt no guilt in trashing St. Patrick’s Cathedral, placing corpses on the White House lawn or staging disruptions in the name of getting desired priority research and treatment for AIDS. As usual, “tolerance” and “respect” was a one-way street, and taking responsibility for one’s actions ( like maybe deciding not to have anal sex) has not been on the list of “ethics” for much of the homosexual movement.
Back then, I was a liberal who totally bought the excuse that their body-compromising methods of having sex were justified because this was how they expressed their “born-that-way” love.
I have since unlearned the multiple lies buried in this narrative and how destructive the deception has been to these people themselves and to American culture.
7. These behaviors are not a threat to children. “Gays are not all pedophiles!” goes the typical protest against any hint of such a claim. And they are partially right. It’s true, not all “LGBTQ” adults are after children for sex. Yet many look the other way and then, there is the fairly substantial segment who are attracted to young teens (“pederasts”). There’s no doubt that sex with youth is normalized and tolerated. Where are the “LGBTQ” folks saying “No way!”? They are MIA. It’s even celebrated within the halls of “inclusion” (see: Harvey Milk). Many so-called “non-pedophile” adults who claim an “LGBTQ” identity advocate the exposure of children to inappropriate material and influences of all types-- pornographic novels, mature videos, semi-nude adults at pride parades, etc.
The promotion of “LGBTQ” behaviors to children at school is what Mission America has spent much time exposing over the past 25 years. From the horrific establishment of immoral school clubs ( “GSAs” or similar), to the proliferation of obscene novels in school libraries and “drag queen” performances, it would be difficult to imagine that historically Christian America would let this unfold. Yet here we are.
Aside from instances of molestation, both physical and mental, “LGBTQ” actions have impeded the salvation of children by Jesus. Millstones await many (Matthew 18:6).
8. There are no ex-homosexuals/transgenders and they deserve no voice. Just as no one is born homosexual or in the wrong body, there is ample evidence that those who have these inclinations can change direction. Thousands of former “LGBTQ” individuals (maybe more) can testify to this reality and yet this is eliminated as a permissible category of “diversity.” The homosexual activist movement has spent millions backing legislation opposing change therapy ( falsely labeled “conversion” therapy”) and has blocked every attempt at public recognition of an ex-homosexual or ex-transgender viewpoint.
With the blossoming of conservative media, that is changing, especially for de-transitioner former transgenders. A fair, just and authentically diverse climate will allow for these voices.
9. Same sex “marriage” is an expression of equality. The truth is that there has long existed actual marriage equality —a male marries a female. But two guys having anal sex (pardon the graphic content) or two females using plastic substitutes for the male organ are only marriage to those who have lost common sense. The movement to foist this heresy on all of America was assisted by GOP Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney ( read the awful truth HERE), assisted by corrupt judges and numerous spineless politicians and ministers afraid of being seen as hateful. What we got as a result is an empowered sin movement on steroids, believing “LGBTQ” endorsement can legitimately be demanded of everyone, even schoolchildren.
And remember all the claims that same sex “marriage” would never be a threat to your marriage, hetero person? But same sex “marriage” has legitimized the promotion of all the “LGBTQ” behaviors to everyone, including children and teens, and a reason to silence all critics. Accompanying such promotion is often anti-parent violation of consent, and anti-Christian messaging to deny religious liberty. The “LGBTQ” movement has done untold damage in undermining Christian freedom of speech.
10. Greece and Rome prove that homosexuality is acceptable and inborn. Excusing current sodomy because “it was common in Greece and Rome” (and we all know what exemplary cultures those were), is a serious distortion of history. What actually took place provides much more evidence for the traditional Christian “not-born-that-way” narrative. Apparently homosexual “hook-ups” between a heterosexually-identified, often married adult male and a younger male partner were common in these ancient cultures, with the older male taking the dominant sexual position. It was considered prestigious for some. Homosexual identities were not needed for this activity, much like the pansexual or “queer” labels of today, reflecting not inborn but developed desires, desires that can be undeveloped ( see Ex-homosexuals/Transgenders above).

I could add many more points on the historical timeline, because there is no end of horror stories: how “transgender” suddenly became a noble cause legitimizing the mutilation of children, when it’s actually a grim money-making machine; how non-discrimination policies based on “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” have proliferated on the false claim that these are immutable and harmless traits; how the Supreme Court’s decision in Lawrence v. Texas overturning sodomy laws led to the travesty of same sex “marriage” but actually, sodomy remains disordered and high-risk; and how homosexual activism has targeted Christians through “lawfare,” employment “cancel” campaigns, doxxing, and much more.
HOPE... I do not want to leave out the element of human redemption here. No one is born to be “gay” or born in the wrong sex body, so none of this ever has to happen, and no more lives need be ruined by continuing down the road of depravity. Everyone is fully capable of leaving these desires and behaviors behind. Many have done so.
So my point is to detail the futility and damage that accompanies sin, when humans never needed to do this in the first place.
I urge everyone to keep that fact in mind and to let the Lord lead each person to a better and more Christ-like place.
