Schools Advocate Revolution Using SEL

Linda Harvey

Since President Trump cut funding for DEI programs in schools, many people think this racist, corrosive ideology is gone. Unfortunately, no.

It turns out that DEI is now hiding as a poisonous weed under the shade of a tree of evil called social emotional learning, SEL. It’s everywhere in schools and I have more questions than ever.

Recently, I was pondering the clear and present danger to America and the global threat to western civilization. I asked myself, what is holding back the flood of tragedy? What is keeping at bay widespread socialist/Islamist Christian and Jewish persecution?

Not much is holding it back. What’s emerging is truly a color revolution—and the color is red -- for blood.

It makes me so sad.

So in America, the public schools are churning out obedient, illiterate, sexually corrupted  global citizens who will go along with much of this. Many are comfortable with violence. They know little about the unique protective qualities of America, and in fact, many hate the America they have been told is a destructive colonizer. They see no danger as they are carefully tutored to feel secure with the disruption of Constitutional liberties. They embrace the government as their lifelong parent.

What can stop this? Regarding our children, it can be stopped by parents who stand up against the worldview of SEL and all that it ushers into the school framework, and into the minds and spirits of impressionable children.

Do your dreams and plans for your son or daughter include Antifa? Jew-hating campus protests? If not, read on.

SEL teaches the new revolutionary worldview and it has permeated schools in Ohio and throughout the nation.

Here’s what SEL brings into your child’s life:

·      First, an assessment that traditional Judeo-Christian values are mental health disorders. How does this happen? Evaluations, formal and informal, throughout the class day, whether you like it or not. And it starts with profiling your child and intervening to meet their “needs.”

If your school has a school based health clinic, the operational pressure for those clinics to fill patient volume will be met by student appointments, needed or not. So over-diagnosing will be rampant. Many parents will love the convenience, forgetting the danger of diagnoses and treatments that may be unnecessary. Some of these will push children into self-labeling and rebellion ( “I’m a victim of my too-strict parents”).  The counseling arm will connect students with intrusive sexuality and gender advice, and let’s not forget “reproductive health.” Governor Mike DeWine, a Republican, has enthusiastically backed and funded these clinics throughout Ohio with taxpayer funds. They serve to separate children from parental oversight and give influence over a child’s body, mind and spirit to health care providers.

SEL lessons in the classroom are a pipeline into these clinics.

·      Classroom-based emotional assessments are the bread & butter of SEL. How many parents have been outraged by surveys that – “whoops!” --are given to children without notice? Many of these surveys manipulate the minds and hearts of suggestible children. “ How are you feeling today?” “Have you thought of hurting yourself recently?” Adults can handle such questions appropriately. But children? No. They often begin to dwell on the dark and negative, inflating everyday situations into mental health concerns. The good intentions of trying to intercept suicidal actions often create angst among otherwise happy-go-lucky kids.

·      As part of SEL competencies, parents are assured that all this improves academic performance as children are instructed they must accept “people who are different,” “those who don’t dress or talk as you do,” and so on. While we might applaud efforts to engender kindness toward a student with Asperger’s, or the disheveled teen from a troubled home, or a child with different skin color, what this really boils down to is pressuring students to not react with their natural good instincts, or according to values taught at home, when they encounter the boy in lipstick and a skirt, or the openly proud, rainbow-flag-hanging lesbian teacher.

In practice, here’s what students are supposed to tolerate, even celebrate: a middle school mock lesbian “wedding” between two students as a valuable lesson in “diversity.” This occurred in 2023 during an SEL class at Brunswick Middle School in Ohio.

Students are pressured to show “respect for” the values of Islam, the values of Hinduism, the “LGBTQ” community.  The natural inclination of children to be accepted and not labeled as mean or bigoted will intimidate them into silence or sadly at times, their active exploration of sinful behavior.

·      Re-framing language, starting with sex identifiers, is a huge part of the SEL “inclusion” propaganda. One promising development is the smack-down of forced fake pronouns in an Ohio case heard in the federal  6th District. Students do not have to conform to nonsensical language in service to the “woke” agenda. But students will still be trained under many SEL lessons to call males “people with penises.”

·      How strong is the force behind this propaganda? As my colleague Marsha Metzger has pointed out in several of her compelling webinars at Parents on the Level, DEI was named a “sacred value” in a screeching speech by Becky Pringle, president of the National Education Association. It’s “sacred” and so any questions asked will be considered  “heresy.” (Is Becky a witch? Asking for a friend.)

No wonder parents are getting stonewalled everywhere they turn. Surveillance software tracks children’s responses and parents have limited options in the public schools—until this is brought to a halt.

·      School counselors are usually not your ally these days. The American School Counselors’ Association is totally woke and has indoctrinated its membership to accept that all this is, indeed, sacred. Parents can be left out of student assessments and gender identity/sexual orientation private counseling. Yes, this parental rights violation is still going on.

·      Then, the end point is to transform these newly-propagandized students into agents of change, i.e., hate-filled activists. The radicalized, masked ICE protesters are mostly public school products.

America is in danger and your children and grandchildren are the tragic tools of revolution.

What are you going to do about it?
