Should we continue to promote homosexual behavior, including the right to embrace a 'gay' identity, to teens and young adults? The sad reality is that in our public schools now, open homosexual behavior is taken for granted as a right for some students, the predictable result of incessant propaganda.
To listen to the left, the only reason anyone rejects the idea of certain kids believing they were born homosexual is because of 'hatred and bigotry.'
But looking at the most recent data about HIV, it might just be that conservatives show the most compassion when we continue to say that these ideas endanger kids.
The most recent government report on HIV (reflecting data from the year 2010) reveals that out of over 12,000 new HIV infections that occurred in the 13-to-24 age group, 72 percent were in young men who have sex with men (MSM).
Did you catch that? Almost three fourths of new HIV infections among teens and young adults result from the involvement of boys in homosexual behavior. It's not a mystery how these kids' lives are being radically altered, probably for life.
So, does anyone really care? Or are some folks too busy promoting the agenda?
And the majority of those infected are African -Americans. So, if you look at this another way, maybe a responsible question is, why are we abandoning these kids? Why is no one telling them, at every possible venue-- at school, in church ( if they can be reached there), in their community groups-- that they should not ever engage in homosexual sex?
Dream on. The left would never stand for that.
Abstinence until marriage is still the best idea for all teens, even those who may have same sex attractions at the present time, but the 'gay'/Planned Parenthood coalition is busy trying everywhere they can to cut the funding for abstinence programs and otherwise discredit them. If we were to deliberately set out on a course of self-destruction, we couldn't be doing a better job.
So what does the Centers for Disease Control recommend? This is the public health arm of the U.S. government, and like many health care providers today, their approach to the issue of homosexuality is often schizophrenic. They know that refraining from the high risk of homosexual behavior would dramatically slow the spread of HIV, but their often politically correct approach doesn't give much time to this message. Instead, they recommend 'managing' the risk with latex and dialogue. And now, their big message for youth is to get tested for HIV.
That's right -this is the big new campaign: testing. In fact, health officials are recommending HIV testing as a routine health procedure for teens in general. If more time was spent on an unqualified warning against all the behaviors that lead to infection, the epidemic would actually slow down. Or end.
HIV is still primarily a 'gay' disease. The most recent figures from the Centers for Disease Control show that for all age groups, around 60% of new HIV is a result of male homosexual behavior. If you want to learn more about this go to the CDC web site.
And maybe take a moment to send a comment on their web site, and suggest they spend more time discouraging people from these behaviors. Wouldn't that be the most effective and responsible way to stop an epidemic?
