Good News! The Top 10 Positive Declining Trends in America

Linda Harvey

As we enter the New Year, let's talk about the decline of America, and the fact that it's not all bad news.

In fact, some national declining trends are extremely positive.

There’s the off-and-on decline in gas and food prices. There’s some good news about taxes ( no tax on tips or overtime). I was very pleased to learn that the  number of “LGBTQ” characters in TV shows is predicted to drop in the new year.

But let’s talk about more dramatic shifts that should really encourage our nation’s Christians and conservatives.

Here’s my list of the Top 10 Positive Declining Trends in America.

10. Radical “LGBTQ” advocacy groups are losing money. As funding streams dry up, the Human Rights Campaign, GLSEN, the Trevor Project and others had to lay off staff during 2025. Whether they will make up that shortfall is anyone's guess, but the less funding they have, the less harm to our culture and our children. I say, Hallelujah.

9. Teachers’ union membership is dropping steadily. And that’s good news for student freedom of speech, religion and academic achievement, since most union policies focus on pushing far-left ideologies on students while neglecting reading and math proficiency. Because of these negative trends, public school enrollment is also down as parents turn to religious schools, private schools or home-schooling.

8. More Planned Parenthood clinics are closing, a reflection of Medicaid cuts and changes in the mechanics of abortion. Some of that, of course, is not good news. More abortion by medication means that abortion-minded women are harder to reach with a pro-life message. When brick -and -mortar facilities are fewer in number and abortions occur in homes and apartments, there are bound to unfortunately be more medical mishaps (hemorrhaging and other complications). Let’s hope we see pharmaceutical regulations that reduce these tragic, at-home baby deaths.

7. Some say the number of minors embracing gender confusion is in decline. There is dispute over whether this is a valid report, but one thing is sure. When the truth begins to be heard more widely in our culture, our children will be listening and less likely to be led into the darkness of gender distortion. New regulations from the Trump administration are planting those seeds of doubt about the course of transgender treatments and surgery. A blockbuster report by HHS, detailing the poor adherence to science by the advocates of child gender mutilation, should serve to open many eyes about this unfolding medical disaster. Let's keep praying that these numbers do go down as our youth hear facts instead of dangerous fantasy.

6. The Democratic Party has money trouble. We watch with turbulent emotions as a large part of our country still follows this destructive entity, but in overall numbers, Democrat finances and voters do seem to be drying up as their leadership embraces more extreme positions. It also helps as GOP leaders deport illegal immigrants and kick them off voter rolls. And there are fewer Democrats in Congress, always a good thing.

5. Fake Social Security and SNAP accounts are being reduced as the extent of fraud continues to be unveiled. Our hope is that this is cleaned up completely and if so, federal expenditures will decline. So will unemployment as those who can work, actually do.

4.  New illegal immigrants are no longer invading America’s borders as Trump border authorities follow long-established federal law. We have negative net migration for the first time in 50 years. Let’s shout Hooray for fewer drug traffickers, sex traffickers, Islamic terrorist wannabes, convicted felons and welfare parasites.

 3. Fewer gender clinics for children are operational as major pediatric clinics close (Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, Children’s Hospital of Washington, Nationwide Children’s in Columbus are just a few.). That means fewer minors are being prescribed puberty blockers, opposite sex hormones, or undergoing needless surgery on healthy body parts. Also, fewer males are joining female athletic teams.

2. Support for same sex “marriage” has declined. While a majority of those surveyed  (54%) still approve of homosexuality- as -marriage, the level of support has declined significantly in recent years.

1. Most importantly, the number of people giving a cold shoulder to Jesus is down as more people return to church or attend for the first time. Young people especially are responding in huge numbers to the assassination of Charlie Kirk with hearts that are open to the Lord.

Our prayer is that this trend continues on campuses and in high schools as fewer say “Never!” and more and more say “Yes, come into my heart, Lord Jesus.”
