Top 10 Acts of Christian Courage in 2015

Linda Harvey, WND.com

Who do you remember from 2015?

When faces come to mind, it’s hard not to think about the current field of presidential candidates and the bravery many have displayed at pivotal points in their political careers. Others have not shown such stellar qualities, and discerning voters will hopefully sort this out.

But when I look back at 2015, I remember ordinary people facing extraordinary circumstances, and both wisely and sometimes creatively devising solutions. Many still walk a hazardous path where the foes are financial ruin, court drama or much worse: acts of terror from evil enemies. They need our fervent prayers and tangible support.

Here’s my list of the top ten acts of Christian courage in 2015:

10. Dedicated pro-life advocates gather daily outside Planned Parenthood clinics coast to coast to provide sidewalk counseling, to protest the actions of the abortion giant and encourage prospective patients to choose life instead. The week before Christmas, many local groups held “empty manger” protests while singing Christmas carols. A nationwide effort this summer was called #ProtestPP.

9. Crystal O’Connor told an Indiana TV reporter her family-owned pizza shop, Memories Pizza, would not cater a same sex “wedding” if asked. Deluged with vicious calls and emails from “gay” sympathizers, including one Tweet advocating arson, Memories closed. Good news: a crowd-funding effort yielded over $800,000, and the restaurant re-opened.

Looking Back on 2015: Mission America Highlights

Our media ministry is busier than ever!

Linda Harvey speaks at a Planned Parenthood rally.

This was a year of heartache as well as progress. How can we say that? Because in spite of the U.S. Supreme Court’s unconstitutional, immoral decision in June declaring homosexual behavior to be “marriage," the light of truth still shines bright in America.

When darkness moves in, light becomes a refuge for many, some who were unwilling to open their eyes before. This is often how God works, so we must not be discouraged, but continue to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ and all that He taught.

In 2015, Mission America continued and expanded our media outreach, with Christian radio programming six days a week throughout Ohio; weekly on the national Moody Radio Network; through many radio interviews on American Family Radio and elsewhere; and Linda Harvey's weekly columns on WND.com , Barbwire.com, and elsewhere on the web.

Our e-newsletters reach a national audience as we share key commentaries, and president Linda Harvey is honored to participate in state and national task forces addressing family and life issues.

Linda Harvey is a noted speaker, author and pro-family leader whose latest book, “Maybe He’s Not Gay: Another View on Homosexuality,” has been a powerful witness to many teens and college students. She speaks regularly to high school classes ( 6 in 2015). And we have spent countless hours as a resource both online and in person to families looking for information about homosexuality. We also handed out Gospel-centered information at a "gay" pride parade and demonstrated at a Protest Planned Parenthood rally.
